Two young girls with dog, named best in show, at somersham carnival 2014.

The Carnival Committee would like to thank everyone who brought their owners to the Novelty Dog Show. It was great to see Somersham’s finest furry pals compete on Sunday 15th, for the title of Best In Show.

Thanks also to Neville Diss of ND’s K9 Academy, and to JLC Photography Ltd, for their time and kind support of the show.

Somersham Carnival theme announced for 2013

Beside the Seaside header

The theme of the 2013 Somersham Carnival has been announced as….  ‘Beside The Seaside’.

After a wide range of themes were suggested, the Carnival Committee voted at their AGM on 19th September for the theme ‘Beside The Seaside‘.

The Committee also confirmed the dates for 2013 as:

  • 15th – 23rd June 2013 is ‘Carnival Week’.
  • Saturday 22nd June 2013 is Carnival Day.

Get those dates in your diaries and get those thinking caps on over the winter months… as Somersham will prepare itself for a week of seaside fun in 2013!

Don’t forget, you can join us over on Twitter or Facebook for all the latest!

The 2012 Somersham Carnival Programme

We would like to thank all of the advertisers in this year’s Somersham Carnival programme. Without their support, we would not be able to deliver a free copy of the programme to every home in the village.

If you or your organisation would like to advertise in the 2013 Somersham Carnival programme – which this year saw a free copy being delivered to every home in the village – then please contact Geoff Bains (email: or on 01487 740727) who will be able to supply you with details.

Thirty-one Country Craft categories have now been announced – giving you plenty of time to start getting creative across cookery, handicraft and floral crafts, as well as categories for the under 16’s.

The Country Craft event will take place at The Village Hall, Somersham on Sunday 17th June.

Many of the categories are inspired by this year’s theme of ‘Going For Gold’ – so now’s the time to put your (golden) thinking cap on!
