It’s hard to imagine that it’s almost a month since the 2014 Somersham Carnival Week ended.
Thankfully, the day was sunny – unlike the following weekend which was ruined by torrential rain.
The Carnival Committee would like to say a HUGE ‘Thank You’ to all of the organisations, businesses, community groups, and individuals, who kindly, and most generously, offered their time, expertise, services, and prizes. We would also like to thank all of the people who attended and supported the events that ran during Carnival Week.
Your support helps to ensure that Somersham Carnival continues to not only run, but to grow too.

This year’s carnival day will be even bigger and better than last year. Along with the popular Train Rides, Military and Vintage Vehicles display, food vendors, Zorbs, and the Fun Fair, here’s what else we have in store for you:
9am – Stalls start to set up on the Norwood Playing Field
11:45am – Procession assembles on The Trundle. Walkers at the Millennium Pavilion Gate. All are welcome (children must be accompanied by an adult). Floats at the north end of The Trundle. Vintage vehicles at the Millennium Pavilion car park (please go via Feoffees Road).
12 noon – Judging for Best Decorated Float (Club/Pub, School, and Independent) and Best Walking Group.
12 noon – Stalls open. Beer Tent also opens with exclusive Bishop’s Palace Carnival Ale!
12:15pm – Procession departs from The Trundle
12:30pm –GamersBus opens for trips to video games heaven.
12:30pm – St Ives Rhythm & Blues begin (in the Busker’s Marquee)
1pm – Arrival of the Procession
1pm – Outback Bar opens (come and say G’day, sport!)
1:15pm – Djembe Drumming workshop begins
1:30pm – Somersham Town Band begins (in Victory Hall garden)
1:30pm – Fancy Dress Competition in the theme ‘Commonwealth’ (in the Arena)
2pm – Pipes and Drums (in the Arena)
2:30pm – Baby Competition (under 12mths) (in the Arena – with a parent!)
2:30pm – Grand Prize Draw
2:30pm – Somersham Town Band begin (in Victory Hall garden)
