The Carnival Princess will be crowned at 3.30pm at Victory Hall on Sunday 16th June. Her attendants will also be appointed.

As every Carnival Princess knows, she and her attendants have a very important job to do during Carnival Week – with the awarding of the Country Craft Competition prizes, and in leading the Carnival Procession on Carnival Day (22nd June).

The new Princess will succeed Princess Morgan Matthews. Her attendants were Rachel Day and Eleanor Phipps.

The Carnival Princess and her Attendants are the winners of a free draw of girls living in Somersham and Pidley, in school year 6 (for the Princess) or year 5 (for the attendants).

Our thanks to Anne and Clive Desborough and to Parkhall Garden Centre for their support of the Carnival Princess.

A new Princess has been crowned in Somersham and is ready for her Carnival Day duties.

Princess Morgan Matthews was crowned on Sunday 17th June. She was joined by her two attendants – Rachel Day and Eleanor Phipps.

The Princess’ duties see her take centre stage in Saturday’s procession of carnival floats and walkers along with her two attendants. The procession leaves The Trundle at 12:15pm and makes its way to the Parkhall Playing Field to mark the start of the Carnival Day proceedings.

Princess Morgan succeeds Princess Anastasia Soteriou as the Somersham Carnival Princess.
