Somersham Carnival ‘full of colour’


The Hunts Post has described this year’s Somersham Carnival as ‘full of colour’.

Carnival Day saw crowds gather on the Norwood Playing Fields and at Victory Hall where they were entertained by a range of performers.

This was preceded by a colourful carnival procession featuring classic cars, carnival floats, groups of walkers and even a couple of horses!

Pidley Ted and friends visit carnival

Visitors to the Norwood Playing Fields today (Carnival Day) were joined by Pidley Ted and his friends – the Pidley Mountain Rescue Team and the Pidley Male Voice Choir.

Pidley Ted posed for photos, and along with the Pidley Male Voice Choir, entertained the crowds whilst raising money for the Pidley Mountain Rescue Team.

2011 Carnival Princess has been crowned!

2011 Somersham Carnival Princess

In a ceremony at the St John the Baptist Church on Monday 20th June, Anastasia Soteriou was crowned as this year’s Carnival Princess.

Lauren Tunstall and Katie Thompson became the Princess’ attendants.

The Princess’ first official engagement will be as part of the procession on Carnival Day.
